WELCOME!

Welcome to my blog. Thanks for dropping by. Hope you'll stay and enjoy reading about where I've been and what I've been doing!

I don't mean this to be a replacement for personal emails, but it gives me the chance to put up photos and my scrapbook layouts, so I don't block up your in-boxes, or have to send the same photos and stories to everyone separately!
Thanks, and welcome, to the followers of my blog. I'm very honoured that you enjoy it. Drop me some comments from time to time! It's good to hear what you think about the posts. Come back again soon.

Thanks also to Mary of Mary's Mixes for doing all the work on the blog's heading. You are great, Mary!

UFO sighting

Quick entry tonight….. Did you see that news story about a suspected meteor shooting across the sky over the south of Scotland and north of England last night?  Colin and I had been out for a meal at the Chinese restaurant, and when we came out we saw what I thought was one of these Chinese lanterns that is lit and sent off up into the sky.  We stood and watched for a while as it drifted - and that’s all I can say it did – across the sky going north westerly in direction.  It glowed orange in colour; no flashing lights like an aircraft would have had, and there certainly was no long tail.  It was definitely a UFO, but was it the suspected meteorite?

Curiouser and curiouser, said Alice! (Was that from Alice in Wonderland, or Alice through the Looking Glass?)

We were coming home from watching our granddaughter (age 6) perform in a Highland Dancing show in Broxburn and had just gone through Pathhead when we saw the meteor - it was moving quite fast and had a glowing red trail - very dramatic - we wondered what it could be, so I've been fascinated to read the accounts online. I guess you were in Peebles?

Still don't know what it was. Maybe there will be something in the local newspaper on Friday.

In what direction was the meteor travelling, Margaret? Yes, I was in Peebles.
